Semi-permanent & Temporary Colors Semi-permanent color: You can keep your hair color for 4 to 6 weeks once you color the hair using semi-permanent, and it could be faded by shampooing. The hair texture on the wig won?t be changed by coloring of semi-permanent, but will be changed temporarily. You should know that semi-permanent color is the most effective way if you want your hair to be dark. Temporary color is the same as color rinse and it lasts from shampoo to shampoo. Temporary color is only beneficial when you want darker wigs. If you want light wigs, you may have to shop the wigs in light shades. Directions and Test for Coloring Wig You have to know that the directions specified on the box of coloring kit should be followed without regard to the ways of coloring, permanent, semi-permanent, or temporary. If you don?t follow the directions on the coloring kit box, the wig coloring could result in too light, too dark, a change in hair texture for the wig, or uneven wig hair color. Wig hair usually colored with the wig on a canvas or Styrofoam block. So you have to protect the canvas or Styrofoam block with a plastic cap or Saran Wrap. You?d better to test a strand on the wig to see the result of coloring in advance. The test for strand of hairs is performed mostly on the nape area of the wig. Place the hair strand in an aluminum foil with a proper amount and mix the color with following the directions specified on coloring kits. Then apply the color to the hair strand and leave it on during the required time as specified on the coloring kits. You can use a spray bottle to rinse the hair and then can dry the hair using towel-dry and blow-dry to see the result of coloring.
